First rising to prominence in Warsaw's art scene in the early 1970s, over the following decades, photographer and filmmaker Zygmunt Rytka went on to have a prolific career, eventually gaining recognition as one of Poland's most important post-war artists. This exhibition at the Wrocław Contemporary Museum and Foundation of Visual Arts comes after the compilation of Rytka's archive, which includes some 40,000 negatives, 1000 prints and 40 photographic series. The selection being presented focuses primarily on themes of perception, cognition and media manipulation, which is to say, it's quite timely in light of the various issues being dealt with in Europe and beyond these days.
