Berlin's new airport, maybe opening in 2020, is 18 kilometres southwest, or about 30 minutes travel, from the city centre.
The WelcomeCenter in the arrivals hall provides tourist information. Luggage can be stored or shrink-wrapped at the service centre on level -1.
The Airport-Express trains RE7, RE9 and RB14 run at least four times per hour from Hauptbahnhof, taking 30 minutes. S-Bahn trains S9 and S45 run to the airport every 10 minutes, taking about 45 minutes. Use bus X7 (every 5 minutes) to connect to U-Bahn station Rudow on the U7 line through Kreuzberg and Charlottenburg. At night, bus N60 runs every ?? minutes to Hackescher Markt ??. All these connections can be used on a €3 ABC-zone Einzelfahrschein ticket. Additionally, express bus SXF1 (ticket €7,50) runs via Südkreuz and Potsdamer Platz to the ICC and Messe grounds.
Long-distance trains directly to Hamburg, Hannover, Amsterdam and Krakow depart from the airport station too. Taking a taxi to the airport costs about €30 for Mitte, €34 for Charlottenburg, day and night.
