The ‘Grandfathers of Cuban Music’ will revive 1940s and 1950s Havana with their extraordinary life stories and musical magic of Cuba. A combination of live music and dance will take visitors to the most popular bar in Cuba, the ‘Bar at Buene Vista’.
This show adds to the legend of the Buena Vista Social Club phenomenon by giving you a real insight into who the Club was actually for, who played there, the dress codes, the dance etiquette, the gossip, from the man behind the bar: the eyes which saw it all.
Allow the rhythms to carry you to something truly Cuban in an atmosphere reminiscent of Havana’s pulsing Buena Vista district. Cuban traditional music was brought to a world stage in Wim Wender’s box office hit, Buena Vista Social Club. The Bar at Buena Vista was at the centre of the Cuban musical revolution, providing a home for legendary songs like ‘Dos Gardenias’ and ‘Chan Chan’. Dancing too played a crucial part in what made this legendary bar so enticing. Be enthralled by tales of love, jealousy and reconciliation, all brought together by the swinging sounds of congas, trumpet, and tres, in a unique mix of rhythm and dance.
