Just northeast of Poznań, Puszcza Zielonka Landscape Park offers one of Greater Poland’s most rewarding escapes into nature.

Established in 1993, the park protects over 11,000 hectares of forests, lakes and rolling post-glacial landscapes, with woodland covering roughly 80 percent of its territory. Criss-crossed by walking and cycling routes, it is a favourite destination for day-trippers seeking a dose of fresh air without straying too far from the city.

Beyond its extensive forests, the park hides a surprising variety of attractions, from quiet lakes and nature reserves to the popular observation tower atop Dziewicza Góra, the highest point in the area. Visitors can also explore the renowned Forest Arboretum in Zielonka or follow the Wooden Churches Trail, a scenic route linking a dozen historic timber churches scattered around the park’s edges. This combination of natural beauty, cultural heritage and easy accessibility means that a visit to Puszcza Zielonka can start with a simple woodland stroll and then unexpectedly turn into an entire day of exploration!
