The Industrial Monuments Route is a unique tourism trail in Poland. It features over 40 unique facilities located in almost 30 towns across the Silesian region, allowing visitors an unprecedented glimpse into the industrial history of the region and how it has shaped the daily way of life for so many locals in industries ranging from coal and steel to printing and brewing. The only event of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, during the annual Industriada Festival these sites are not only open to the public, but special workshops, tours, performances, family programmes and more are organised. Spend this summer weekend exploring unique sites like the Guido Coal Mine in Zabrze, the Silesian Museum on the grounds of the former Katowice Coal Mine, the art gallery in Nikiszowiec's Wilson Shaft, Katowice's Porcelain Factory, Zinc Rolling Mill and more. Check the Industriada website for complete details of all the special events happening at each participating location.
