Around Konrad Krzyżanowski: Associations & Expressions
May 10 - Sep 1 2019
ul. Przędzalniana 72
Konrad Krzyżanowski was a Ukrainian-born Polish portrait and landscape painter, considered to be an early exponent of Expressionism in Poland. A popular, colourful character among Warsaw's bohemian artists at the beginning of the 20th century, the passionate artist and fiercely committed art teacher believed that art should be an individual expression of emotions, not a constant search for applause and validation. Well known only in his own close circle of artist friends, he never gained wider popularity - even to this day. This exhibition of his artworks aims at bringing his body of work closer to the modern audience.
