Polish art in the latter half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th was heavily influenced by the goings-on at one of the nation's oldest art schools, the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. This exhibition will take you through the main players, including historical painter Jan Matejko (the artist most ingrained in Polish national consciousness, responsible for monumental works like Battle of Grunwald), playwright-painter-poet Stanisław Wyspiański, and folk-scene lover Włodzimierz Tetmajer.
