Fashion House Limanka's leading motto is that fashion should be always in the avant-garde, since it represents how we live, breathe, speak and create - it describes who we are as individuals. Therefore the idea of everyone wearing badly made identical clothes bought at chain stores is appalling to the artists of the fashion house Limanka. Avant-garde prints, plagiarism and collective care for continuous growth of oversupply of art and fashion make up the DNA of Limanka. The exhibition is part of a project titled Prototypes aimed at testing this idea using the Art Museum's collection. Invited artists will be using the works from the collection to model our contemporary reality. This is how they want to counterbalance the “production” of new works in the spirit of environmental friendliness: by re-using the already existing works of art and filling them with new contexts. The exhibition New Collection displays the clothes ready to be tried on but not available to buy.
