The International Theatre Festival - A Retrospective - Spectator/Participant/Co-creator

Friday Aug 20 - Sunday Aug 29
share
Jerzy Grotowski, considered a father of contemporary experimental theatre, was an innovative Polish theatre director and theorist who rejected the idea of theatre performance as pure entertainment and repositioned theatre as an encounter between spectator and actor. The festival pays homage to this great artist presenting important performances implementing Grotowski's idea of breaking down the barriers between an audience and an actor.

In 2021, the theme will be building artistic communities, the question of the artist's responsibility in the perspective of the digitization of our lives and interpersonal relations, as well as the celebration and meeting as the original functions of theatre, which are alive and well in the 21st century.
