Kinga Vineyard

  Stara Wieś 28, Nowa Sól      (+48) 60 952 85 81     more than a year ago
While there was activity on these grounds more than a century ago, the modern history of Kinga Winery dates back to 1985, when Kowalewski family began cultivating dessert grapes, the first being the 'Pannonian Treasure' variety. With the vineyard completely destroyed in the catastrophic 1997 floods, with the exception of a single solitary planting of 'Aurore', the Kowalewski repopulated their grounds with seedlings imported from Moldova. The winery changed hands in the spring of 2004, and the second generation of vintners, Kinga and Robert Koziarski, re-established the vineyard by symbolically planting a row of Aurore vines as part of a continuation of its dynamic history! Today, Kinga Vineyard deals in both wine and dessert varieties of grapes in two separate areas of the estate. In addition to these, wine vinegar, pickled vine leaves and marinated grapes are also in production here. One specific culinary attraction are the cabbage rolls in vine leaves with wine-macerated fish, which can be enjoyed during wine tasting sessions in the winery's 'black barn', an old fisherman's house where boats and netting were once stored. The vineyard's is also home to some unique acquisitions - old barrels and a stoneware tank from the Zielona Góra cognac factory later the Zielona Góra Polmos. The Koziarskis are partly responsible for the Lubuskie grape wine being entered on the List of Traditional Products of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2006. Kinga Vineyard offers wine tours, tastings, sleepovers, a shop for guests, finishing, various local dishes, and vines for purchase. All prices for these activities are discussed through prior reservation by phone.
