We'll get straight to the point. This gem of a restaurant is well worth the ten-minute bus ride from the centre. It serves so-called 'grandmother's cuisine' meaning Swiss dishes from days gone by with a refined twist. Every day a four-course surprise menu (around 63Sfr) is served and the dishes arrive in bowls which are placed in the middle of the table so everyone can share. After our salad we tasted a lovely cold vegetable soup followed by a chuck steak with asparagus and fried potatoes, not to mention a geneorus second helping. After the rhubarb compote we finished with an espresso and some Heuschnaps (hay schnapps). All in all, we had a lovely evening in the restaurant's tranquil garden and if the bottle of Barolo we ordered hadn't been too warm (and then too cold once chilled), it would have been a perfect dining experience.
