Buying gifts

Carturesti Carusel
This cool bookstore located in Old Town Bucharest might be one our favourite places in town. It’s almost impossible not to find a gift here; from a huge selection of books, to music, tea, sweets and Romanian design, Carturesti has everything you could think of to buy as a gift. While you’re there, you can also admire the great architecture of the building, and maybe buy something for yourself?

AlbAlb
This concept store has a small selection of the best art & design Romanian products, carefully selected to bring you only the best of Romanian creativity. We’re talking about art prints, jewellery, fashion items and ceramics, so there are lots of options to choose from for your special someone. Keep in mind that this store is open only on Saturday, so you should pay a visit as soon as possible!

Tort de Bezea
You can never go wrong with a sweet gift! Tort de Bezea is a cake shop that’s all about meringue and happiness. Their sweets have low sugar content and fresh fruits all year around, so they’re perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth.  If you know someone who loves meringue or you want to try something new and special, we strongly recommend paying this shop a visit, or ordering from their website.

Date at the Museum

If you’ve prepared a special dinner at home, but still want to go out with your partner, a date at the Museum is always a great idea.
If you’re into Romanian contemporary art, MARe (Muzeul de Artă Recentă/ Museum of Recent Art) is the first museum displaying a permanent collection of the best contemporary art in Romania, and also the only edifice in Romania that was specially designed as a museum.
The National Museum of Art of Romania (MNaR) is a great option if you like medieval and modern Romanian art, but also international art. Located in the former Royal Palace in the heart of Bucharest, this museum will also give you the opportunity to take a walk on Victory Avenue, Romania's most elegant street.
