One of the most common crafts of ancient Novgorod is wood carving. Wood products are not only functional, but also beautiful. Using the rich possibilities of this natural material, the masters created carved icons, the king's gate, the iconostasis, the churchyard, the pulpit, the place of prayer, the altar canopy, candlesticks, sculptural images of saints, crosses and icon stands.
These works of ancient masters became exhibits of one of the best expositions of the Museum, including also the rarest sculptural images of saints. The exposition is located on the second floor in the building of former Offices.
