To celebrate the 300th birthday of Josef Ignaz Mildorfer (he likely won’t be attending), the Belvedere will hold a special show dedicated to the great Baroque painter. This will include his first ever monographic show, as well as a deep dive into the three major aspects of his work — his rare battle scenes, his work with the clergy, the bourgeoise and the aristocracy, and his run as a professor at the Vienna Academy of Arts.
