This exhibition in Warsaw's National Museum of Ethnography considers the notion of what it means to be a child.
Viewers are presented with the lives of 6 children born every 30 years from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st, taking particular care to examine the way ideas and behaviors of childhood have adapted over a century. The museum notes that there is no one idea of childhood in that time period—the notion of childhood is different based on class, place of birth and time. Follow the children's lives individually or approach the exhibit through themes of childhood, looking at autonomy, care, duty, presence.
