Even though his musical beginnings were marked by struggle, as he first failed entrance exams to a music conservatory, and later received poor reviews for his debut single "Ad un amico", Eros Ramazzotti eventually broke through with the song "Terra promessa", performed at the Sanremo Festival in 1984. He's currently well known in Italy and across the Spanish-speaking world; his most recent album, Perfetto, came out in 2015.
