Traditional folk outfits of the Southern Chinese minority ethnic groups such as Miao, Dong or Bai are famous for their intricate embroidery design and beautiful batik painting. Each design symbolizes particular ethnic group characteristics, its members status within a group, level of wealth and a particular occasion for which the garment was worn. Li Lei is the collector of ethnic garments created by village women from above-mentioned regions of China. The exhibition is comprised of these meticulously made garments, courtesy of Li Lei.
