Paint, also known as Blood is the first large-scale international exhibition devoted to women whose painting practice re-evaluates stereotypes concerning submission and domination. The title refers to the hunting jargon, where 'blood' is referred to as 'paint' therefore minimising the importance of animal blood as a symbol of life. The exhibition is a collection of paintings by women artists, reflecting their firm stand on a womanhood, autonomy and power of self-determination, hence provoking many questions on power and objectification, repression, perversion and embarrassment.
