Music and the tools used to produce it take on many forms throughout the world. “Sound Zone” is part of a permanent exhibition that opened in 2016 at the Museum of Asia and Pacific. The exhibition presents over 100 musical instruments originating from various countries and cultures. It includes simple instruments for amateurs and elaborate masterpieces which were used by professionals and royals. The cultural aspect of the instruments will also be illustrated through multimedia displays. You will learn the traditional role of the instruments and hear the music that was created by them. The exhibition will also allow you test your musical skills with the chance to try out a few traditional instruments.
