Wrocław is famous for its gnome statues hidden all over the city centre. For one special weekend of September, these gnomes come to life and take over the Old Town to the delight of kids. The events kick-off with the Great Gnome Parade on the Market Square, then heads over to Park Staromiejski where the Great Gnome Village is set up for the course of the weekend. The three-day festivities include a wide range of attractions and activities aimed at families and children, including circus, fire and magic shows, a silent disco, theatre and dance performances, dwarf workshops and various urban games. In addition to all the attractions on the market square and Park Staromiejski, coordinated events also take place in several of the city's museums.
