If you don't mind boozed-up and oft-obnoxious crowds, and don't feel like paying an arm and a leg for a glass of champagne and a soggy sandwich at a fancy club, then get your New Year's kicks on the Main Square. The year's event is titled 'Wrocław Respect' and is focussed on inclusiveness, equality, and diversity. Topping the bill will be the veteran icons of diversity and LGBQT outness, The Village People themselves. One stated goal of the event is to get 40,000 people dancing together to the group's January 1979 hit 'Y.M.C.A.' to celebrate it's 40th anniversary. Here's hoping it goes off without controversy or conflict.
