The crowning achievement of the concert will be the performance of Requiem in D minor (KV 626). The circumstances of its creation are shrouded in legend based on actual events - it can certainly be said that while writing the work, he was seriously ill and faced the inevitable sense of the approaching end. The work was completed by the composer's friend Joseph Eybler and his student Franz Xaver Süssmayr.
