Lubuskie Parks & Nature Preserves

share
Certainly one of Poland's most green regions, many of Lubuskie's top attractions are its natural landscapes and parks. Criss-crossed with rivers both big (Oder, Warta, Nysa, Bóbr, Obra) and small, Lubuskie is Poland's most forested province (48% trees!), features over 500 lakes and harbours many natural monuments, preserves and parks. As such, the region is an absolute wonderland for outdoor enthusiasts, particularly cyclists, hikers, anglers, kayakers and birdwatchers. It's the latter who flock to the Warta River-Mouth National Park (Park Narodowy Ujście Warty) in spring and autumn to observe hundreds of ornithological species on the marshes, while kayakers float through the forests of Lubuskie's Drawa National Park (Drawieński Park Narodowy, shared with Greater Poland and West Pomerania) in hopes of spotting beavers and otters.

In addition to these two national parks, Lubuskie is also home to eight landscape parks. The most famous of these is the Muskau Bend (Łuk Mużakowski), a UNESCO Geopark riddled with prismatic lakes. The province also features a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Muskau Park - a 19th century landscape park it shares with Germany, filled with historical architecture and ancient trees.

If you're looking for natural beauty or an active adventure, Lubuskie provides. Explore the listings below for more ideas and information.
