Best Pub in Ljubljana

more than a year ago
You can’t beat a pub, can you? Our team of international editors has plenty of experience when it comes to sipping pints in
comfortable surroundings, and there are lots of reasons why our team has made Ljubljana home. We’re not saying the pubs
are number one, but we aren’t denying it either. Here's this year's selection for the title of Best Pub in Ljubljana.

Corner Pub
Being British, we do love ourselves a traditional ‘pub’ style environment, and Corner Pub in Tržaška certainly fits the bill. With 18 years of tradition behind it, more than 40 different beers on offer and live sports events on the projector, we only have good things to say. The coffee is pretty good too, put together by professionally trained baristas. Read more...

Cutty Sark Pub
One of the most popular bars in the city and frequented by all manner of locals and expats, Cutty Sark provides two dark bars and a summer terrace, childish art on the walls, model ships and the world’s biggest chewing gum machine. Featuring a good selection of local and international beer, find it bursting with interesting specimens most evenings. Read more...

Harat's Irish Pub
Just opened in the summer of 2021, Harat's ticks all the boxes you'd expect of an international Irish pub, and also boasts some premium riverside real estate - that's literally in the shadow of Ljubljana's famed Dragon Bridge. There are some 20 beers on tap, including perennial Irish and British favourites, as well as local craft beers and even their own house brew, while multiple TVs make sure that patrons can keep an eye on the score of the match. Read more...

Holidays' Pub

If you’re just in on an EasyJet flight from England and are looking for something in the city centre that resembles where you drink at home, this one should provide everything you need. Read more...

Lajbah
Follow the river south from the city just a few steps from Gornji Trg, and you’ll find Lajbah. They aim to bring you good music, good food, and lots of craft beers - and they don’t disappoint! With 16 regular beers to choose from they also host a monthly ‘Tap Takeover’ where they invite some of the finest craft breweries from far and wide to showcase their ales for the evening. Read more...

Parlament Pub
Knowing neither whether it’s a café nor a bar, this peculiar oddity with its books on the shelves, shady characters and students is nonetheless a popular stop for the heavy drinking younger crowd. Known for cheap beer and cocktails and lively international parties almost every night, it’s a great place to start or end an evening out. Read more...

Patrick's Irish Pub
Ljubljana's quintessential Irish pub is popular with locals, expats and tourists alike, and over the years we've personally spent many a night entertaining visitors, watching sports on the big screen and generally drinking too much here. They've got a huge selection of beer, with some 90 varieties to choose from, and often host events such as live Irish music concerts, pub quizzes and beer tastings. Read more...

Pivnica Union
It may have taken 150 years, but the wait was most certainly worth it. One of the ‘Big Two’ of Slovenian beer producers, Union’s pub is a welcome addition to the brewery complex. Located in the former workers canteen it retains this workingman’s feel, wrapped in a modern coating. Read more...

Sax pub
This is what happens when an unruly youth inherits his great aunt’s country cottage. This now legendary, graffiti-spattered nightspot wouldn’t last a week in New Orleans, but in Ljubljana there’s nothing of its kind to beat it. A fairly small bar features photographs of jazz greats on the walls and a clientele of people who appreciate what Charles Mingus once referred to as black classical music. Read more...
Sax Pub

Sir William's Pub
Sir William's clientele is largely a reflection of its location in the city centre between the national courthouse and Radio Television Slovenia, as well as several business hotels. Boasting one of the largest beer selections in Slovenia, there are over 160 different varieties to choose from, and one of the country's best craft beers, Human Fish, is always on tap. Read more...
