Violin virtuoso Gidon Kremer and the Kremerata Baltica orchestra under his artistic leadership returns to Klaipėda with the member of the Circus Roncalli (Germany), clown Robert Wicke in tow.
The first half of the programme, Hommage à Piazzolla, is dedicated to the music by the most famous Argentine composer. Kremer reveals: “we will present some works related to one of the most interesting personalities in the music of the 20th century and another favourite composer of myself and Kremerata Baltica: I am speaking about Ástor Piazzolla.”
The second part will present a genius still to be discovered, Mieczyslaw Weinberg. Celebrating his 100th anniversary, we will be along some powerful music of his serious scores, showing at the same time the entertaining side of this genius.
We do hope to be able to build a bridge between the ‘connoisseurs’ and those, who might discover after our program, that they actually love music much more than they have ever imagined. Our wish is to avoid any moment of boredom. The audience is expected to share deep emotions being additionally rewarded by fun and joy. All this takes place without any spoken words.”
