According to Petrulis, “the Latvian school of horn players is highly regarded and esteemed as one of the best in Europe. Arvīds Klišāns, having had an illustrious career as an internationally acclaimed musician and a long teaching career at the Latvian Academy of Music, is one of its founders and most prominent teachers. His former pupils now perform with orchestras not only in Latvia but also elsewhere in Europe (for example, with the Klaipėda Music Theatre Symphony Orchestra). The Liepaja Horn Quartet is no exception: all four musicians had graduated from his class and currently work in the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra.”
