Rossini's 'The Barber of Seville', with its Italian melodiousness, temperament, verve and irresistible humor, is one of the greatest works of comic opera. The story follows the escapades of a barber, Figaro, as he assists Count Almaviva in prising the beautiful Rosina away from her lecherous guardian, Dr Bartolo, all with hilarious results. Having been on stage here at the Grand Theatre of Łódź and exceptionally well received by the audience, the secret to success in this production is thanks to many talented individuals. Natalia Babińska's fantastic direction, Julia Skrzynecka's costumes, and Diana Marszałek's scenery have all added a new humorous dimension, and has been given a thumbs-up by both seasoned opera connoisseurs and younger viewers. The musical revival by the hand of Maestro Tadeusz Kozłowski further adds to the list of reasons why you should not miss this spectacle!
