The 53rd Maribor Theatre Festival welcomes everyone interested in theatre and fantastic performances. Hosted in the Slovene National Theatre, the festival showcases talented Slovene performers and has also recently evolved into an international event, with foreign performances. There is also an awards ceremony, where the best shows, musicals, stage directing, acting are praised by a jury of theatre professionals. The most coveted award is the Borštnik Ring, which is awarded to an actor for their lifetime achievements.
