The Puppet Theatre Maribor was founded on 8th December 1973 when two amateur theatres joined forces. It has been in its current location in the building of the Minorite monastery on Lent since 2010 where it enjoys plenty of space and state of the art equipment, allowing its highly skilled team to reinvent and expand its programme. The museum also houses a permanent exhibition of sketches, plans, scenery and photographic documentation and, of course, many wonderful puppets. Tours are available where you can learn about more about the history of the theatre and different puppetry techniques. Check their website for full programme and performances of classics such as, Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Dragica the Witch and many more.
