Culture connoisseurs will be able to view unique depictions of kabuki actors from Japan’s Edo period (1603–1868) at the Riga Bourse Art Museum. These miniature wood engravings from the Latvian National Art Museum’s collection cover a broad spectrum of subjects from sword-fighting warriors and sumo wrestlers to scenes from local folk tales and erotic illustrations. Most of the works on display were created by renowned artists of their day including Utagawa Kunisada (1786–1865), Toyohara Kunichika (1835–1900) and Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797–1861).
