  (+371) 1817 (toll call) 21 Feb 2017

Riga International Airport, known throughout the world as RIX, lies some 10km southwest of the city. The Airport Express shuttle stops at 10 different hotels (including Radisson Blu Latvija Conference & Spa Hotel, Albert Hotel and Monika Centrum Hotel) in the city centre and the left bank of the river (Islande Hotel and Bellevue Park Hotel Riga) every 30 minutes between 04:25 - 00:35. The trip costs €5. Bus N°22 leaving from Grēcinieku iela will take you there for €1.15 (€2 if you buy a ticket from the driver). For departure times visit www.rigassatiksme.lv.

The airport has undergone major improvements over the years including a new terminal for low cost airlines. A TGIFriday’s is available at the far right of the airport and a LIDO Latvian restaurant is open on the top floor of the main terminal for those who want a last sip of a local beer or who just can’t stand airplane food. A sushi restaurant, a pizzeria and some local cafés are available on the other side of the security checkpoint as well as a variety of duty free and paid shops, including Victoria's Secret and Furla.
