Devoted to the study of how art is perceived by its audience, Collection Co-selection aims to involve the audience as much as possible in the curatorial process of selecting works for the collection at Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art. The goal is not to create an exhibition via popularity vote. Instead it aims to confront its participants with a series of pertinent questions: Why do we need contemporary art? Why do we go to galleries and museums? What motivates our choices and influences our decisions? Why do some gallery-goers look for reflection on reality and others look for an escape from the outside world? The curatorial gallery will be online from October and the project will culminate in an exhibition in Ujazdowski at the end of the year.
