Marc Chagall (1887-1985) was a Russian-French artist who is widely considered one of the most prominent modernist painters of the 20th century. Born into a Jewish family in Belarus, Chagall moved to Paris in 1910 and began to develop his distinctive artistic style, which combined elements of Fauvism, Symbolism, and Surrealism. His works often featured dreamlike imagery, including floating figures, flying animals, and mystical landscapes. Chagall's art was also deeply influenced by his Jewish heritage and personal experiences, and he often incorporated Jewish themes and motifs into his paintings. Throughout his career, Chagall created a wide range of works, including paintings, murals, stained-glass windows, and tapestries, and his art has had a lasting impact on the world of modern art. This exclusive exhibition at Warsaw's prestigious Auction House is a special selection of 40 of Chagall's works on paper.
