The mighty Roman Empire had many laws, even laws to do with religious burial ceremonies which were incineration and inhumation, both of which were recorded on the ancient necropolises explored in Zadar. The public gets to see the richness of the rituals and objects inside graves which create a wider image about the social and economic situation as well as the religious understanding of the social community. A historian’s paradise!
