St Elias's Church

more than a year ago
The city's Orthodox church was originally used by Greek merchants and sailors, later serving the city's Serbian community. It stands just behind the Forum, and since this area is undergoing extensive renovation, you can't access the church at the moment. It was built in the late Baroque style at the end of the 18th century, and contains a wonderful collection of icons spanning the 16th to 18th centuries.
