Under new management (August 2025), this lively and ever-so-grungy little gay bar is one of the longer-standing mainstays of the ever-changing Melville bar strip. The music at Ratz is a danceable mix of soul, disco, and house with a liberal sprinkling of Katy Perry, and staff who welcome you like friends. Warm up early with drinks, nachos, and a bit of friendly competition on the pool table – but by midnight the tables are cleared and the dancing commences. Margarita Fridays and Sunday karaoke nights are also part of the weekly soundtrack.
