Haus Konstruktiv

  Selnaustrasse 25      (+41) 44 217 70 80     more than a year ago
Haus Konstruktiv fits its location well: a former electrical substation in the city centre. A perfectly industrial backdrop for the kind of art this public gallery specialises in. It is essentially dedicated to preserving one of the most important Swiss contributions to art history: constructive and concrete art, represented by artists including Max Bill, Camille Graeser, Richard Paul Lohse and Verena Loewensberg. The Rockefeller Dining Room, a walk-through painting in concrete style by Swiss artist Fritz Glarner for Nelson A. Rockefeller is permanently on show. All other exhibitions change periodically, and are essentially about the continuation of this legacy into the present - see Culture & Events of this guide for the current exhibitions.
