Die Pienk Kerk

  24 Chatou Road, Richmond ,   Melville          +27 63 693 6415     29 Oct 2025
Once Auckland Park Wesleyan Church, built in 1903, this iconic Melville building has worn many hats over the decades. Today, Die Pienk Kerk is an unmistakably pink restaurant, coffee shop, and mini art gallery, lovingly restored by restaurateur and visual merchandiser Yanni Briel.

Inside, whimsical details from sculptural geese and hidden bunnies to mismatched seating create a playful, welcoming atmosphere, while the pink courtyard and mini gift shop add extra charm. The menu features internationally inspired, made-from-scratch dishes, from shakshuka and eggs Benedict to the famed Smoky Joe Burger. Rotating local art exhibitions, live performances, and a community-focused ethos make Die Pienk Kerk more than just a dining spot; it’s a creative and safe space in the heart of Melville.
