The Brazilian economist-turned-artist Sebastião Salgado has been one of our favourite photographers since we first saw his world-renowned series Workers in the mid-1990s, so we were incredibly excited to hear that this summer the Jakopič Gallery and City Museum of Ljubljana would be jointly hosting the first ever exhibition of his work in Slovenia. Some eight years in the making, Salgado's Genesis project presents more than 240 spectacular large-format black and white photographs of wildlife, landscapes, seascapes and indigenous people, with the aim of raising public awareness about the pressing issues of environment and climate change. Don't miss your chance to see this powerful and important achievement by one of the true masters of the art form, which is being shown in Ljubljana in connection with the city's tenure as the European Green Capital for 2016.
