Right in the centre near Łódź Fabryczna station you'll fine one of the city's oldest murals, advertising the former ‘Pewex’ (Przedsiębiorstwa Eksportu Wewnętrznego) shop that operated here. During the communist era, Pewex stores sold imported Western goods - from jeans to LEGO - in exchange for US dollars, becoming symbols of rare luxury. Painted in 1987, this is one of the city’s last surviving PRL-era advertisements.
