Maps can often reveal a country's history better than any other form of record, and that's certainly the case with Romania. This fascinating, extensive collection, displayed in a wonderful early 20th century house in one of the most prestigious locations in the city, tells the story of Romania and the entire Black Sea region over many centuries. Look for maps showing Romania's shared border with Poland (between the two world wars), and do not miss the maps of Bucharest which predate the demolitions of the 1980s, when Bulevardul Unirii did not exist.
