Cismigiu

share

The area around Cismigiu - a large landscaped garden close to the city centre which has been the promenade location of choice for Bucharest's residents for more than 150 years - has in recent years made something of a name for itself as the location of a small number of exclusive boutique hotels, which make use of the area's relative quiet and discretion. The garden itself is gorgeous, and even on the busiest of summer weekends it is easy to find a quiet treelined path offering shade and respote from the heat. Even in winter Cismigiu is popular: locals have been skating on the artificial lake for decades, and a small Christmas fair is held here each December.

There are cafes, restaurants and even clubs in abundance if you know where to look (try our Nightlife pages).
