Bieszczady National Park

23 Feb 2026
Bieszczady National Park is one of Poland’s wildest and most atmospheric landscapes, located in the far southeast near the borders of Slovakia and Ukraine. Known for its połoniny (ENG: rolling mountain meadows), dense beech forests and wide-open horizons, it offers a sense of space that is increasingly rare in Europe. Wildlife thrives here, including European bison, lynx, wolves and bears. Hiking is the main draw, with long, quiet trails leading to panoramic summits and remote valleys. With minimal development and dark night skies, Bieszczady remains a place for solitude, slow travel and deep immersion in nature.
