Before the era of boring movie posters which all look the same in each country, Polish artists were creating their own versions of movie posters for the national market. This tradition of artistic movie posters grew out of a burgeoning Polish Poster School, a popular form of art in Poland. This exhibition is dedicated to some of these poster created by one of its leading artists Ryszard Kaja, along with some of his other works such as drawings, costume design, oil paintings among others. Ryszard Kaja is still creating art and is currently finishing up the “Polska” series of 120 posters based on well-known and less well-known places in Poland.
