The Sopot Hippodrome hosts just 4 days of racing each year which is a real shame, so make sure to take advantage each July. Each meeting consists of 6-8 races with the races themselves often a mix of flat, hurdles and even trotting. There are lots of bars selling beer and snacks and a VIP area with a proper bar and well-situated viewing balcony. The crowd are an eclectic mix with people mingling in the stands and in the queues to the on-course Tote. Some dress as if they're aiming to get into the Royal Enclosure at Ascot while others appear to have come straight from the beach.

If horse racing is your thing, then you'll enjoy the spectacle and the fact the events take place over two weekends in July makes them a bit of a tradition for many.
