The latest body of work from outstanding Tri-City artist Jacek Staniszewski, professor of the Gdańsk Academy of Fine Arts, who combines an academic level of research and internalisation with a punk sensitivity and energy that is outputted on the canvas. In „Nobody’s Perfect”, Staniszewski presents a deeply disturbing vision of the world, in which he confronts the viewer with extreme situations, from a world dominated by psychological and physical violence, plenty of tension and often with a dose of black humour! For the bluntness of his message and the aforementioned 'punkness' of his creation, the style of these works certainly do not lack visual refinement, which is part of the draw of his works. Staniszewski considers this as visual propaganda, and perhaps the title of the exhibition is a sarcastic comment on the neutral approach to issues of social justice and politics. He is known to have taken a strong stance on the idea of a clear evil and being a cynic of the 'moral ambiguity' of actions, especially when considering the relativization and/or justification of violence in the name of higher goals.
