Tallinn

Taxis

Taxi stands are conveniently located near major hotels and at various points just outside Old Town. Hailing a taxi on the street often incurs a premium fare. Always check the prices first, which should posted on the taxi’s right rear window. Ordering by phone is a more economical strategy, as rates tend to be better. Alternatively, using taxi ordering apps such as Bolt or Forus is a popular choice. The controversial Uber 'taxi' service is also operational in Tallinn.

Taxis typically charge a starting fee plus a kilometre rate. Night time metres can run about 20% more. Note that the second (short) telephone numbers listed here will work from all Estonian fixed and mobile lines, but if you're calling from a foreign mobile, you need to dial the regular seven-digit number.
