Olga Boznańska was one of the most important painters in Poland in the 19th and 20th centuries and in this exhibit, the National Museum celebrates her life on the 160th anniversary of her birth. Born in Kraków, Boznańska studied ni Poland and Munich, before becoming a member of the prestigious Society of Polish Artists in the late 19th century. From her home in Paris, Boznańska honed an incredible, unique style that's easy for any Polish art-lover to identify on sight. Her work went beyond Poland, garnering international acclaim as she focused on portraits and still lifes. Today, she is one of Poland's most beloved artists, and her works are on display here at the National Museum, including some borrowed from Paris's famed Musee d’Orsay. Worth a visit for art lovers, lovers of Poland, and anyone in between!
