Tineretului Park

B-dul Tineretului ,   Tineretului & Parcul Carol         more than a year ago
A large, mostly lovely park featuring some of the best playgrounds in the city. Divided into two parts, the main section (closest to Tineretului metro) offers a few rides for kids, trampolines and dodgems, as well as playgrounds and plenty of tree-lined avenues great for strolling.

During the summer you can rent bikes from I'Velo, close to the entrance. Rental costs 5 lei per hour, or 20 lei for a full day. Under-16s and over-65s can rent bikes for free, but for a maximum of two hours.

In the middle of the park is the Sala Polivalenta – a popular venue for concerts, exhibitions and big indoor sporting events - set above a large artificial lake on the shore of which is a great terrace, Cafeneaua Actorilor de Vara, which serves some of the best mici in the city.

Up by Sala Polivalenta you will also find the entrance to Oraselul Copiilor, a large funfair complete with big wheel and other rides, some of which are really rather scary and for over-18s only. Most of the rides cost 5 or 10 lei. It was recently renovated and is a good choice for families with kids.

The best part of Tineretului however is probably the southern side, known as Parcul Vacaresti or Parcul Copiilor, on the corner of B-dul Tineretului and Calea Vacaresti.

Vast amounts of money have been spent on this part of the park, and as such you will find the best and biggest children's playgrounds in the city here. There is also an old steam engine for kids to clamber on, inflatables, a go-kart track, tennis courts, football pitches, volleyball and basketball courts. There are even barbeque spots where you can bring your steaks, sausages and mici and get your grill on.

This is an awesome park. If you go farther down Tineretul to the Park Lumea Copii (Kids' World), you will find an amazing park with tons of sports stations to exercise, immaculately paved walks for roller blading or biking or just strolling, tons and tons of little playgrounds for kids and towards the back and up a hill you find an area with a ferris wheel and restaurants and (even) more kids playgrounds. Super clean and beautiful, with tons of security always around. Loved it.
