The Kingsmead Book Fair is an annual celebration of literary culture with a day-long programme of events for children and adults that includes writer's talks, panel discussions and the reveal of the winner of the 2023 Young Writers’ Competition, plus plenty of great books for sale.

To celebrate Kingsmead College's 90th anniversary, the book fair will follow the school’s theme of courage. You're encouraged to be courageous and explore new genres, attend talks and sessions you normally wouldn't and get inspired. 

This is an event for the whole family with something on the programme for any age group and generally a good mix of topics ranging from art to politics led by some very interesting South African personalities. Hosted at Kingsmead School in Rosebank there's plenty of outdoor space and a courtyard where you can socialise over food and drinks from one of the many food stalls.
